
本学期末,温州森马协和国际学校高中部组织了首届小说节,旨在促进对阅读的热爱、提升学生的文学赏析能力。从寒假期间(2023年1月)开始,英语老师们就引导学生踏上了阅读之旅。从选书,到读书,再到开学后在课堂上一起赏析、研究及讨论。在五月份,为了更好地指导老师们将小说研读融入到课堂,高中英语组还邀请校外专家开展工作坊来交流教学策略。学生们在前期赏析完小说,就开始积极投入到六月中旬的展览准备工作,通过引人入胜的人物分析、背景介绍、情节概括、书评撰写、封面设计以及现场讲解等形式,在小说展览活动中向全校师生展现所读作品的精髓。6月29日,学部在大剧院举行了一场盛大的晚会,学生们通过戏剧朗诵、配音、话剧、手偶剧和音乐剧改编等方式将每一本小说的魅力呈现给观众。
This semester, WZ SUIS High School organized the first Fiction Adventure, an exciting activity to promote a love for reading and enhance students’ literary skills.
Starting with book selection during the winter vacation (January, 2023), our dedicated teachers guided students throughout their reading journey, providing valuable insights and encouraging discussions.
Workshops by experts (May, 2023) equipped teachers with effective teaching strategies centered around the selected novels.
Students actively participated in exhibition preparations (June, 2023), showcasing their creativity through visually captivating displays reflecting the essence of the novels.
On June 29th, 2023, the activity culminated in a grand gala show at the Grand Theater, where students brought the magic of novels to life through dramatic readings, skits, plays, puppetry and musical adaptations.

10A Alice in Wonderland
10A的学生们呈现了一部令人着迷的《爱丽丝梦游仙境》改编版,这部由刘易斯·卡罗尔创作的作品。他们的展览展示了各种技能,包括绘画、设计、表演和导演。演出中的场景引人入胜,还有一场多语种的疯狂茶会,涵盖了法语、意大利语、西班牙语、英语和温州话,以及一个意想不到的结局。互动的问答环节增添了乐趣,幸运观众还有机会获得奖品。这场难以忘怀的体验将每个人都沉浸在一个充满想象力和冒险的世界中,给所有观众留下了深刻的印象。学生们展现出的创造力和才华让这场演出变得如此迷人。
The talented students of 10A presented a captivating adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Their exhibition showcased a range of skills, from painting and design to acting and directing. The performance delighted the audience with its mesmerizing scenes, a multilingual mad tea party featuring French, Italian, Spanish, English, and Wenzhouhua, and an unexpected twist at the end. The interactive Q&A session added excitement, with prizes awarded to lucky participants. This unforgettable experience immersed everyone in a world of imagination and adventure, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. The creativity and talent displayed by the students truly made it an enchanting show.
10B The Westing Game
“太阳缓慢而坚定地落入地平线,继承人们与时间赛跑,解开威斯汀谋杀案的谜团,同时相互治愈并发现真实的自我。”
10B的同学通过模拟访谈的形式和原创歌曲的演奏,为大家展现了扣人心弦的故事背景,分析了复杂的人物关系。
同时学生通过”The Westing House”的模型制作,加深了对小说谜题、复杂情节、错综复杂的人物关系的理解。它还促进了读者对故事的理解并培养了他们的想象力的发展。
“The sun set slowly but surely over the horizon as the heirs raced against time, unraveling the enigma of Westing’s murder while discovering their true selves and healing each other along the way.”
10B students showcased a captivating story background and analyzed the intricate character relationships through a simulated interview and original musical performance.
The students’ creation of “The Westing House” model enhanced their understanding of the novel’s puzzles, complex plot, and interwoven character relationships. It also fostered readers’ comprehension of the story and nurtured the development of their imagination.
10C A Christmas Carol
10C以查尔斯狄更斯的小说《圣诞颂歌》为创作基础,展示了主角斯克鲁奇内心变化的故事。艺术展览基于小说的整体氛围,即圣诞节。我们准备了精致的装饰品,每个人都根据故事中的情节为艺术品的创作做出贡献。为了晚会的筹备,我们不仅安排了小说的改编,还派出了我们最好的乐队来演唱与圣诞相关的歌曲。
The students from 10C were working on the novel A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens which is story about change in the main character, scrooge’s inner heart. The art exhibition was based on the overall atmosphere of the novel which is Christmas. We have prepared delicate ornamentation and everyone contributes to the creation of artworks based on the plot in the story. For the preparation of the gala, we not just only arranged an adaptation of the fiction, but also put out our best band to sing the song related to the story.
10D Little Women
《小妇人》是一部小说化的家庭日记,在舞台上,10D的演员们呈现了马奇家的女儿不同的性格:Jo富有创造力和爱好写作,Amy擅长绘画但是自私,Meg高贵又虚荣,他们的母亲则循循善诱。在展览中,10D的学生们通过全手工制作,展现了小说中不同人物的鲜明特点,在演出中也呈现了经常的话剧表演。
Little Women is a novelized family diary. On the stage, actors from 10D present different personalities of the women in the March family: Jo is creative and loves to write, Amy is good at painting but selfish, Meg is noble and vain, their mothers are persuasive. In the exhibition, 10D students showed the distinctive characteristics of different characters in the novel through hand-made items and played different roles in a short drama.
11AB-H Holes
想要看到更大的世界,更大可能,你必须跳出自己的那个狭小的洞。不放弃,不妥协,爬出来;人生又是另一种可能。
这句话源自于小说《别有洞天》,它讲诉了主角斯坦利被冤枉偷明星的球鞋而来到绿湖少年管教营,终日从事一项惨无人道的苦役,在干涸如岩的湖床上顶着烈日挖洞。出人意料的是,在这片荒凉的土地下,埋藏着几个家族上百年盘根错节的恩怨与秘密····
11AB(H)的同学通过精彩纷呈妙趣横生的配音和演讲,带领现场的观众们进入了一场精神和灵魂的冒险和奇遇,并通过续写的方式,使斯坦利这个人物跃然纸上和现实生活浑然一体相映成趣。同时同学们通过手工制作展品呈现书中斯坦利见到的鞋子、蜥蜴以及挖到的百宝箱,充满了亦真亦幻,既古老又现代的独特气氛。

This comes from the novel Holes, which tells the story of Stanley, the main character, who is falsely accused of stealing the star’s sneakers and comes to the Green Lake Juvenile camp, where he is engaged in a inhumanely hard labor, digging holes in the scorching sun on the dry lake bed. Unexpectedly, beneath this desolate land, was buried the intertwined grudges and secrets of several families spanning over a hundred years…
The students of 11AB(H) led the audience into an adventure of spirit and soul through wonderful voice acting and speech. Through the way of continuation, the character of Stanley comes to life vividly on paper, seamlessly blending with the reality of everyday life.
Their exhibition vividly showcased the shoes, lizards, and treasure chests that Stanley sees in the book, filled with a unique atmosphere that is both real and illusory, ancient and modern.
11C Who Moved My Cheese
在展览中,11C同学展出了小说Who Moved My Cheese 中四个主角Sniff,Scurry,Hem,Haw的人物形象,把他们在迷宫探索的情形以可视化的形象生动地呈现出来,同时将小说中的金句通过陶瓷盘、展板等形式进行展示,让观众体会到拥抱变化的重要性。
他们的节目演出把Sniff,Scurry,Hem,Haw这四个主角面对变化的不同反应以手偶剧的形式呈现出来,生动有趣的表演不仅让观众看得入迷,并且让观众从人物富有情感的对话里体会小说的精髓。
We showcased the novel Who Moved My Cheese in our exhibition, with the highlight being the prominent portrayal of the four main characters: Sniff, Scurry, Hem, and Haw. We vividly depicted their exploration in the maze through visual imagery, allowing the audience to experience the importance of embracing change.
Our performance portrayed the different reactions to change by the four main characters, Sniff, Scurry, Hem, and Haw, in the form of puppetry. The lively and entertaining show not only captivated the audience but also enabled them to understand the significance of embracing change through the characters’ emotionally rich dialogues.
11D Wonder
“当你必须在正确与善良之间做选择时,请选择善良。” 这是关于奥吉成长的励志故事,更是一部关于所有人的成长电影: 不仅深入探讨了人性的复杂性,更是展示了残酷和善良的潜力。
在这场解说与配音相结合的视觉盛宴中,11D的同学通过生动的叙事和精湛的角色塑造展示了奥吉的经历和挣扎,带领我们踏上一段感情之旅。我们遇见了一群多样化的角色,每个人都有自己独特的故事和挣扎:竭力保护奥吉的父母,肩负着弟弟病况所带来的重压的姐姐,忠诚而富有同情心的朋友夏天,充满矛盾的朱利安……
同时11D同学以宇宙星空为背景,通过展板上多个角度的故事剖析和自绘扇子展示了奥吉的自由的畅想,探索了接纳、同理心和选择善良的力量这些永恒的主题。
“When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind.” This is an inspirational story of Auggie’s growth, and it is also a film about the growth of everyone. It not only delves into the complexities of human nature but also showcases the potential for both cruelty and kindness.
In this visually stunning combination of narration and voice-over, the students from 11D vividly portrayed Auggie’s experiences and struggles, taking us on an emotional journey. We encountered a diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique stories and struggles: Auggie’s parents, who fiercely protect him; his sister, who carries the weight of his condition; his loyal and compassionate friend, Summer; and the conflicted Julian, among others.
With the backdrop of the cosmic sky in the display boards, along with self-painted fans, the students from 11D showcased Auggie’s boundless imagination, exploring timeless themes of acceptance, empathy, and choosing kindness from multiple perspectives.
此次活动全面培养了学生对英语文学作品的鉴赏能力,并培养了批判性思维、创造力和演讲技巧,同时也给观众带来了多层次,多维度的视觉盛宴。
This comprehensive activity fostered appreciation for literature and nurtured critical thinking, creativity, and presentation skills among our students, as well as bringing a multi-level and multi-dimensional visual feast to the audience.
